Discover members who share your skills, interests, or experiences\u2014whether you\u2019re looking to lend a hand, find a guide, or simply make new friends.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Click on Live\u2011Link Skills & Interests<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Every multi\u2011select item on a member\u2019s profile\u2014Skills I Can Share<\/strong>, Skills I Need Help With<\/strong>, Travel Interests<\/strong>, Creative Arts<\/strong>, etc.\u2014turns into a live link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Visit any member\u2019s profile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Under their relevant field (e.g. Skills I Can Share<\/strong>), click \u201cPublic Speaking\u201d (or any skill\/interest you both share).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. You\u2019ll land in the Members Directory filtered to everyone who chose that same item.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This one\u2011click method is the fastest way to zero in on peers who match you in specific dimensions\u2014perfect for finding a mentor or reciprocating support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n\n\n\n

    2. Use the Affinity Search Bar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    At the top of the Members Directory<\/strong>, you\u2019ll find our Affinity Search<\/strong> bar\u2014your custom search tool for profile\u2011field filters. Right now it includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Location<\/strong> (Metro \/ Region)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      As we build, you can add more fields here. We recommend including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Skills I Can Share<\/strong>\u202f\/\u202fSkills I Need Help With<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Connection Goals<\/strong> (e.g. Meaningful Companionship)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Travel Interests<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Life Experiences<\/strong> (e.g. Retirement Status)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        How to Search<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        1. Go to Members \u2192 All Members<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. In the Affinity Search bar, choose a filter (e.g. pick your city from Location).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Click Search<\/strong>\u2014the directory will refresh to show only matching members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Combine multiple filters (once available) to narrow down, for example:\n

          • Location = \u201cPortland, OR\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Skills I Need Help With = \u201cPublic Speaking\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            When you\u2019re ready for more filters, just let me know which fields you\u2019d like in Affinity Search and I\u2019ll guide you through the setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            3. Apply Directory Filters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            Below the search bar, you\u2019ll see standard directory filters you can toggle on or off:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • Sort by<\/strong>: Newest Members, Most Active, Alphabetical<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Filter by<\/strong>:\n
                \n
              • Availability<\/strong> (Mornings, Evenings, Weekends)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Preferred Interaction Modes<\/strong> (Video Chat, In\u2011Person)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Group Size Comfort<\/strong> (Small, Large)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                To use them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. Click a filter category.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                2. Tick the option(s) you want (you can select multiple).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                3. The directory updates instantly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  These filters work alongside the live\u2011link clicks and Affinity Search bar\u2014mix and match all three to pinpoint exactly the friends, collaborators, or mentors you\u2019re after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  • Start broad, then refine.<\/strong> Maybe begin with Location alone, then add Skills or Interests as you explore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Bookmark your searches.<\/strong> Copy the URL once you\u2019ve dialed in your filters\u2014come back anytime to update or revisit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Suggest new fields.<\/strong> As your community grows, let me know which profile fields you\u2019d like added to Affinity Search; I\u2019ll walk you through enabling them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
