- Click the Lost your password? link beneath the form.
2. Request a Password Reset #
- On the Reset Password screen, enter the email address or username you registered with.
- Click Reset Password.
- You’ll see a confirmation: “Check your inbox for a reset link.”
3. Check Your Email & Set a New Password #
- Look for an email from

titled “Password Reset for Second Wind Social.” - Click the link in that message to open the Set New Password page.
- Enter a strong new password (at least 8 characters, mix of letters and numbers) and click Save Password.
- You’ll be logged in automatically with your updated credentials.
4. Watch for Lockouts After Failed Attempts #
To protect your account from automated attacks, our system tracks every failed login—whether it’s a wrong password or a username/email not in our records. After several unsuccessful tries, access is locked for 4 hours.
- Why? Brute‑force protection ensures your account isn’t hijacked by guessing attacks.
- What counts? Entering an incorrect password, or a username/email that doesn’t exist, both count as failed attempts.
5. Quick Resolution if You’re Locked Out #
- Contact Support: Email [email protected] with your username. Our team can review and restore your access promptly.
- Wait It Out: Alternatively, the lockout automatically lifts after 4 hours—then you can log in with the correct credentials.
6. Tips for Smooth Login & Strong Passwords #
- Double‑check your typing: Small typos in email or username count as failed attempts.
- Use a memorable phrase: A short sentence you’ll recall easily can strengthen your security.
- Mix character types: Incorporate uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
- Avoid password reuse: Keep your SWS password unique to prevent cross‑site risks.
